Wayanad is reached through three back-to-back wildlife sanctuaries, so the drive itself is part of the experience. Once there, it's caves, waterfalls, a heart-shaped lake and genuinely cool weather.
Day 1
Drive via Mysore, Bandipur and Mudumalai forests (watch for elephants). Evening at leisure near Kalpetta or Sulthan Bathery.
Day 2
Edakkal Caves (prehistoric rock carvings), Banasura Sagar Dam, and Soochipara or Meenmutty waterfalls depending on season.
Day 3
Morning trek towards the heart-shaped Chembra Peak lake (permit/guide arranged locally, subject to forest department availability), then drive back to Bangalore.
Choose a one-way sedan or an SUV for the Bangalore → Wayanad route.
